Magnetic Picker Upper

Categories 3D Print, Mini Project

I thought of this when I used a regular magnet picker to pick up my needles and stung my fingers when I tried to remove the needles from the magnet. There has to be a better way…

The solution was this thing.

It picks up metal stuff, and when you pull back the handle the metal stuff lose the magnetic attraction and fall off.

I designed it in two parts. The sleeve, and the handle. I made it with a pentagon shape to stop it from rolling off the table when it put down on its side.

The print quality is not the best. The nozzle of the CR10s printer was clogged for this print.

At the end of the handle is a two 20x5mm magnets stacked on top of each other, glued in place with superglue.
